Build Your Dream Business with Clarity & Confidence
You want to grow your private practice or expand your music therapy business, but…
What if you had a results-driven, step-by-step roadmap built specifically for music therapists that helps you streamline your systems, master heart-centered marketing, and grow your income and impact without burning out?

The Key to Sustainable Business Growth
Here’s what I’ve learned after years of doing this work: passion and clinical skill will only get you so far. Real, sustainable growth comes from a clear, values-based approach where your vision, your systems, and your impact all line up with why you started in the first place.
I know how overwhelming it feels when pricing, marketing, and admin start pulling you away from the work you actually love. The Business Accelerator was built to simplify your systems and help you grow with real confidence without losing your grounding as a music therapist.
Together, we’ll work through market research, ethical marketing, marketing psychology, and positioning broken into steps you can use immediately, and backed by real case studies from music therapists who’ve built thriving practices from scratch.
This 22 CMTE live program gives you the clarity, tools, and community to grow ethically and sustainably. Plus, you’ll get two weeks of guided implementation at the end, so you’re not just learning. You’re applying, with support and accountability the whole way.
By the end, you’ll know how to serve more clients, earn with confidence, and create lasting impact in your community.
I wasn’t sure whether or not the content would apply when a business has already been established, but now I have more confidence in advocating for music therapy services to programs due to increased knowledge and verbiage. Would I recommend Business Accelerators? Absolutely. It’s easy to underestimate the level of similarity that other MTBOs have to you, and it’s hard to create or find a community like this. The resources alone could be a reason to recommend, but the community is indescribable. My favorite part was the support from everyone on each call.

I’ve already gotten one contract secured thanks to the Business Accelerators, and I’ve also got the tools to start with a trial session and follow up. I foresee securing more music therapy contracts so I can serve my community and further the field of MT in the SE region. I appreciated how personalized it was and how there was space to share our real experiences and get feedback and resources that were highly relevant. Would I recommend the Accelerators? Yes, because it provided not only the steps to take, but the encouragement and accountability to follow through on those steps. Kat’s experience in the field is so valuable and being able to participate live with other MTs expanding their careers was so valuable to me. I felt less alone and more capable and secure about taking steps (even/especially the scary ones) to grow my work.

I can’t put into words what you’ve done for me over the last two months. Our phone call was truly pivotal and just changed everything for me.

Kat is amazing, and I genuinely made so much progress during the course due to her suggestions, holding me accountable, resources, and belief in my ability to do it! This feels so worth the cost and I can’t wait to work with Kat again in the future!

After leaving Kat’s session today I need a mini Kat to put in my pocket and be my personal cheerleader! #inspired

Kathryn Fulton, MM, MT-BC
Founder of Music Therapy Ed
Hi! I am a speaker and board-certified music therapist who has been quoted in major media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, HuffPo, and Epoch Times. I’ve facilitated drum circles with the US Surgeon General, Americans for the Arts, NAMM, Museum of Making Music, Qualcomm, Intuit, and more. I am blessed to be highly sought-out as a retreat facilitator and leader in the healing arts. I ran a private practice for 12 years in San Diego, I founded the premier resource for creative arts continuing education, and I love to mentor creative business owners in scaling their businesses to break free from the starving artist mindset.
Outside of my passion for music therapy, I am a mama to a kindergartener and caregiver to a loved one with Alzheimer’s/dementia.

Tara McConnell, MT-BC
Founder & CEO, McConnell Music Therapy Services, Inc.
Hi! I’m Tara, a nationally recognized music therapist, entrepreneur, and speaker with more than 30 years in the field. I’m the Founder and CEO of McConnell Music Therapy Services (MMTS), which I’ve grown from a solo private practice into a multi-site organization serving hundreds of clients across the Sacramento region since 2002.
I’ve spent two decades pioneering music therapy integration into major healthcare systems, leading program development across the Sutter Health network, spanning pediatrics, psychiatry, oncology, and rehabilitation services. Along the way, I’ve built expertise in business development, staffing, contract management, and creating sustainable revenue streams through partnerships with hospitals, schools, and community agencies.
My work has earned national recognition, including the AMTA Changemaker Award (2015) and the 2026 WRAMTA Professional Practice Award. I currently serve as WRAMTA Government Relations Representative and Chair of the California State Legislative Task Force for Music Therapy.

Would I recommend the Accelerators? Definitely! I do feel that it lives up to it’s name, giving you a structured and encouraging approach to accelerate your business growth. I now have a different perspective when thinking about and approaching outreach. The class was very encouraging to keep pushing, and to keep our bigger goals and vision in mind as to WHY we are doing this work. My favorite part was the resources, scripts and suggestions from an MT who has already done this work and learned how to build up their private practice. I also enjoyed speaking more about the internal barriers that we face when doing outreach or taking steps forward.
Olivia Mavael, MT-BC, NMT, MTA
I wasn’t sure I could commit to building a business while working full-time, or the ability to afford fee due to cost of living and low current wages in current position. However, the Business Accelerators gave me a jumpstart in my private practice building that lead me to booking clients and hopefully creating a thriving full-time music therapy private practice! I LOVED the ZOOM calls and ability to check in with Kat and get real-time answers. Would I recommend the Business Accelerators? Yes! Kat is personable, knowledgable, and it is truly motivating to have her at your back as you are making scary calls and putting yourself out there. I love the resources, and know I will be referring to them in the future as my practice grows.
