In this Mindstorm Monday, founder and co-author of the The Music Therapy Repertoire Challenge, Catherine Hershey, MT-BC wants to inspire YOU to build your repertoire and dig deep into the music. Catherine shares her vision for the future of the blog, how to conquer the challenge of learning new music, and diversify and grow your personal songbook.
Catherine Hershey obtained a Bachelors Degree from the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music, her primary instrument of study being piano. While in college, she gained clinical experience with a variety of populations, and led recreational music groups with older adults at several nursing home facilities. She completed her 6 month music therapy internship with MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care in New York City under the primary supervision of Robin Mitchell, MT-BC, LCAT, then passed her Music Therapy Board Certification Exam in March 2014. Catherine is most comfortable working with Geriatrics and End of Life Care, but would like to gain experience with Children with Special Needs, and military veterans in the future.
