If you are stuck in a business rut, can’t see how to grow, or don’t know which next move to make, learn from Kirby’s experience! Kirby opened her business in 2016, hired her first staff person in 2019, and currently has 17 staff members with a massive 2-story clinic space on 2+ acres with 16,000 sq ft, loading dock, 38 parking spaces, 2 conference rooms, a break room, a craft room, and separate offices for 17 therapists.

But it wasn’t always this way. Her humble beginnings consisted of co-renting a tiny office space for $150/month and subcontracting with a family health agency.

In this class, we examine the variables that made fast growth possible for PlainSong Music Services. Then we offer transfer exercises to determine what possibilities you might have in your circumstances. Kirby’s approach in teaching this class is looking at the whole picture. The teachings are not compartmentalized; instead, we examine Kirby’s outreach, collaboration, funding sources, in an organic, big picture way that threads all elements of the business together seamlessly.

When you join us for the class, you will:

  • Walk away with a list of 83 possible collaborations you might never have imagined

Kirby Gilliam, MA, MT-BC

Born and raised in Anderson, IN, Kirby Gilliam decided to become a board-certified music therapist after working as a music educator in the public school system. Kirby saw the power of music in addressing non-musical needs of her students and believed her community needed this service. Kirby started PlainSong as a way to serve her community through music. Kirby works with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, geriatrics, dementia patients, mental health patients, and more. When Kirby is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her husband Steven, children Eliza and Henry, and her grandcat – Lucy.

Kind Words
