Free March Session Idea: Ain’t No Sunshine

This experience encourages self-expression through improvisation and reflection. Jam with your clients by turning their true statements into music.

Instructions:

  1. Start Am Em G chord progression, invite your client to share one true statement
  2. Jam with your client’s true statement, using mirroring, text painting with your voice, additional instruments used by client, and prompts.
    • Prompt examples:
      • What does that sound like in the music?
      • How does that feel in your body?
  3. When the jam feels complete, move to a quick bridge and invite your client to say “[TRUE STATEMENT], but sometimes…..” and fill in the blank at the chord change.
