Hello fellow music therapist!
It’s been a whirlwind first month for us. Thank you so much for your support and social media “ra ra ra” encouragement! Every comment, like, tweet, share, and virtual high five helps us fly into the next generation of music therapy continuing education. Thank YOU!
Because we are ever-evolving in the most dynamic way, we would *love* to hear about your experience with the site so far. Answer a few questions, and let us know how we’re doing.
The sky is the limit. The possibilities are endless. All of your input is valuable, taken seriously, and acted upon. Click here for the link.
Next week, we’ll release a brand NEW video course on End-Of-Life Care, but this week it’s all-wisdom, all-the-time. Read on~
This Week’s Shout-Out and Advice
Have you joined the Music Therapists Unite group on Facebook? Trina Rainey, MT-BC of Healing Harmony began the group to connect music therapists, near and far. I posed a question a few weeks ago, and here is some sage advice shared by colleagues, used with permission:
Stay active and connected:
“Make going to two conferences a year (national and regional) just part of what you do as a professional. Then, volunteer and get involved… be part of the community and stay connected.”
~ Lillieth Grand, MS, MT-BC of Milestone Music Therapy
“Find a mentor in your area if you end up in a job where you’re only music therapist. It’s good to have someone to ask questions and bounce ideas off of. You will make mistakes, but don’t be afraid. Just learn from them.”
~ Margaret Finnegan-Boynton, MT-BC
Try something new:
“Don’t be afraid to try something new, you never know where it will lead you. If it doesn’t work out, don’t look at it as a failure, but rather a learning experience.”
~Carly Litvik, MT-BC of Music With Carly
Be well, feel good, and keep up your amazing work as music therapists,
Kat Fulton, Curator
PS Don’t forget to help us out by sharing your experience with MusicTherapyEd.com.
