Sandy is a board-certified music therapist and owner of Mountain Music Therapy Services in Colorado Springs, CO.  She is also currently working as a hospice music therapist with Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care in the Springs.

Before becoming a music therapist, Sandy got her Piano Performance and music education degrees from Barclay College in Kansas.  She was a Fine Arts Director in both public and private school settings for over 15 years where she taught general music and directed many musical productions for ages K4 – 12th grade. Since obtaining her MT-BC from Baldwin-Wallace University in Ohio, Sandy has worked with many populations; including adults living with intellectual disabilities, children on the medical waiver, adults living with Parkinson’s as well as patients in hospice and palliative care. The focus of Sandy’s business, however, is bringing group music therapy sessions to the senior population. Currently serving over 20 nursing, skilled, independent and memory care units; bringing compassion and dignity to this population are the hallmarks of Sandy’s business and her personal passion.

Sandy and her husband, Tim, love exploring the wonderful state of Colorado.  Most weekends find them camping where they soak in the magnificent mountain views!  They enjoy playing on their church’s worship team together, too, and hanging out with friends.
