As a music therapist and healthcare professional with 30 years of experience, Tania Cordobés, MMT, MT-BC is passionate about helping overcome adversity or trauma whether she is helping therapists grow their therapeutic skills or helping clients work towards better health and wellness. She is trained in traditional Music Therapy, Improvisational Music Therapy, Neurologic Music Therapy, and Guided Imagery and Music. She is also trained in many specific protocols for treatment of trauma including TF-CBT and most recently trained in EMDR, ASSYST, and PRESCI protocols.

Tania recently celebrated her 20th anniversary at Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County where she facilitates individual and group therapy sessions in Spanish and English, from intake to discharge for trauma survivors and their non-offending family members. During the lockdown phase of the pandemic in 2020 she presented to the programs department on trauma informed care skill application as frontline workers noticed an increased need for trauma informed applications in every aspect of the work.

An active member of state and national organizations, Tania has participated in several programs and committees in addition to her role as a music therapist. She has presented and taught continuing education workshops on music therapy and trauma at the local, state, national, and international levels.
