Turn Your Growth Into Your Clients’ Safe, Supported Space

We all want to be as empathetic, trusting, caring, validating and non-judgmental as possible with our clients. Our Mental Health Supervision Circle is a good fit for you if you’ve ever asked these questions:

  • How can I show true empathy for my client, when I’ve never been in their shoes?
  • What if my words don’t land as caring + validating as I want them to be?
  • What if I’m at a loss for words, and uncertain how to use words to facilitate a therapeutic environment when tensions arise?
  • What are other music therapists doing, who experience my same clinical struggles?
  • How can I ensure I’m working in the most ethical manner, given my clients’ situations?

Our Mental Health Supervision Circle is a community of your biggest supporters.

What is our Mental Health Supervision Circle like?

Think fresh session ideas, think about your clients with open hearts ready to shift, think about YOU walking out of a session feeling like “yes that was meaningful.”

That’s the goal! We run our supervision circle like you facilitate a drum circle…. we start the discussion, and the group takes over, jamming back and forth and making magic.

Bring What You Have To Give, Take What You Need

Bring your presence and openness to receive new session ideas + clinical insights. Join us + feeling like you belong here, sharing struggles and triumphs with our music therapy colleagues in real time. Our Supervision Circle is a safe space to grow, learn, share, become vulnerable, and receive help. Learn how to apply AMTA’s values, principles, and ethics in your work, while hearing a multitude of perspectives from our music therapy peers.

When we are able to learn, share, and become vulnerable safely among a small group of colleagues, our clients benefit from our growth.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Supervision Circle?

Supervision Circles at Music Therapy Ed are settings-based, member-driven group supervision. Twice monthly live group supervision meetings are hosted and moderated by the MTE team on Discord, and a chat channel is always open for Circle members to connect, ask questions, and bounce ideas off of each other.

Why Discord?

We chose Discord as the platform to host our supervision circle because we wanted to foster a close-knit, fun environment outside of traditional social media platforms. This way, you are not required to make or use a Meta account. Think of it like a chatroom or forum and Zoom combined!

When do the calls happen?

Based off community feedback, the 50 minute real-time supervision calls happen twice a month:

  • 4th Wednesdays at 6pm ET / 3pm PT
  • 2nd Mondays at 7pm ET / 4pm PT

How much is it?

If you are a VIP Member, then our Supervision Circles are included in your membership. Need to know the schedule? Need the link to join? Hit us up over text at (513) 214-1823 or email info@musictherapyed.com. Paige will send you deets ASAP.

Meet OUR TEAM

We believe that music therapists are leaders in healthcare, and with the right knowledge and tools you can achieve success in your career. Music therapy truly is a dream job for most of us – what better combination than applying our musicianship to health and healing? If you feel like this career is more of a calling than an occupation, then we get you.

Our mission is to help you become a leader in healthcare.

Our values are discovery, confidence, leadership, community, and fun. Although music therapy is a unique field, our work is often seen as standard of practice. We must be open to creative partnerships. And the sooner we are seen as an authority in our community, the more opportunities will arise for us to serve our clients. We believe every music therapist has the capacity to be seen as the subject matter expert when it comes to music & health. And our goal is to help you make a strong impact on your community.

“Music Therapy Ed has been such a treasure in my life. Thanks for all that you & the team do in bringing so many opportunities to so many music therapists!”
